Sandy James is a two term former Mayor of Cupertino, California. She was elected in 1989 to the Cupertino Union School District Board of Education where she served for eight years 1989-1997, two as President. Sandy was elected to the Cupertino City Council in 1997 where she also served for eight years 1997-2005, two years as Mayor. She is President of the Organization of Special Needs Families and Co-Founder & President of the Cupertino Veterans Memorial. Sandy sits on both the Cupertino and San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce Boards. She also serves on the Advisory Boards of the Cupertino Union School District and Fremont Union High Schools Foundation. Sandy started her business career at IBM in San Jose and currently is the Public Affairs Manager for Sand Hill Property Company assigned to the Vallco redevelopment project in Cupertino.
