Basant Khaitan is an industry veteran with extensive management and technology experience
in Silicon Valley companies ranging from startups to Fortune Global 100. As an entrepreneur
and senior level manager Basant has led leading edge products in processor chips, real-time
software and performance-driven systems.
Basant cofounded vEngines, a pioneering VoIP gateway chip and system solution company
which was acquired by Centillium Communications, and Videonetics, a proven market leader in
intelligent, highly integrated VMS-video analytics software platform solution. Basant has held
senior management and technical leadership positions at Veridicom, Hitachi Semiconductor,
AMI and National Semiconductor. He has driven and managed design process automation,
major technology transfer programs, critical cost savings initiatives and strategic intellectual
property issues including patent strategy and evaluation processes.
Basant received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from
University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. from Birla Institute of Technology, India. He was
awarded two U.S. patents in fields of integrated chip design and signal processor architecture.
