Alex Lattin is an Innovation Principal with over 15 years helping companies grow and innovate, both internally and as a consultant. His experience encompasses many industries, including publishing, electronic component suppliers, consumer products, healthcare, retail, hotel, and energy companies. His primary focus has been helping companies develop and validate consumer-focused insights and, using those insights, to develop and commercialize disruptive business concept innovations. He has worked in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Alex was trained and pursued his early career in corporate law and insurance defense, but became passionate about innovation processes and leadership while working as a product manager at LexisNexis, the corporate and legal publishing service provider. He was recruited to the LN client team for a major strategic innovation initiative undertaken by LN’s parent company, Reed Elsevier, ultimately serving on several new business venture creation teams arising from the program. Alex became an Associate and later Principal with Strategos, the firm founded by strategy and management expert Dr. Gary Hamel, and a successor firm ITC Business Group, driving work streams, coaching client teams, and leading projects across a wide variety of industrial contexts. He has deep experience with a coaching-based model of client capability development in strategic innovation programs, and the significant technical, business model, and domain expertise development agendas required by organic innovation models.
Alex holds a Juris Doctor from the Ohio State College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from DePauw University.
